::..What Inspires Me About Korea...::

Korea...As we all know, kept the best secret in Asia. You name it, from the history, the food, the culture, the architecture, EVERYTHING..

Korea inspires me a lot, especially its architecture and how they balance nature and the busy city life

For instance, the Gyeongbokgung Palace.

The palace is very well built and the details are indeed inspiring.

Like this one, the decoration of the ceiling inside the palace

AMAZING, right? I mean, they carved the wood to make these perfect pieces of  Art. Also, the bright colors of the ceiling decorations.. me LOVE it!

look at the details of the roof

AND,and, and LOOK AT the DETAILS of this roof!!

What's more AMAZING about Korea, is...the landscape..no wonder Korean's poets can write poems beautifully.. <3 <3 <3
A little fact on Korean Landscape
" Korean Garden keep its NATURAL, Simple and UNFORCED. They are less formal and seek to merge with the natural world.
In prehistoric times, Korean worshiped nature. They believed that rocks have more power compared to water and other things in nature. In fact, they believed that rocks engendered God's good- will. Hence, the arrangement of rocks in considered as essential element to every traditional Korean gardens"

No wonder most of Korean traditional gardens have so many rocks as its main elements

Also, this one Cheonggyecheon..

" During 1948-1960, Cheonggyecheon was covered with concrete for roads. In 1968, an elevated highway was built over it. In July 2003, the Seoul Mayor [back then] initiated to remove the elevated highway and restore the stream. Therefore, the highway has to be removed in order to restore the Cheonggyecheon stream. 120,000 tons of water were to be pumped in daily from the Han River because the stream was nearly dry. At that period of time, safety problems also occurred due to the deteriorated concrete construction. Despite this, the restoration of Cheonggyecheon stream was deemed important as it fit in the movement to re-introduce nature world to the busy city and to promote the eco-friendly urban design. It was first received public criticism , after the opening in 2005 the stream becomes popular among the city residents and tourists. It became one of the must-visit-place.
Who would knew that before Cheonggyecheon becomes the must-visit-place it was covered with concrete for roads. I salute to this amazing project! BRAVO!!! <3 <3

Beautiful Cheonggyecheon that I wished to visit someday

Not only that, the food also AMAZING!
Not only it's good in taste, but also a healthy one!

For example, Kimchi..[forget the smell, eat them! ]

I don't know if you know about this or not. But, eating kimchi can prevent cancer and also good for your skin..[if you wanna be pretty and healthy, kimchi is the answer]
Kimchi is actually listed in "World's Healthiest Food'' [Top 10]
" Kimchi was originally created to preserve its minerals and vitamins in veges over the long winter. Earliest kimchi was created with cabbage and beef stock only. Red chili peppers flakes are used as the main ingredients for spice and source of heat for many varieties of kimchi. "

I have always wanted to try Cold Noodle.. and  tteobokki..[okay, my tummy starting to crave one]
This one! kyyaaaa~!! Cold noodle

" Cold noodle was originally a Northern Korean dish. It became popular in Korea after the Korean war. Served with tangy ice broth [sounds chilling!], julliened cucumber, slices of Korean pear, and either a boiled egg or slices of cold boiled beef or both. Spicy mustard sauce or mustard oil and vinegar are often added before consumption. The noodles would be eaten without cutting as it symbolizes longevity of life and health."

Tteobokki..looks yummy.,indeed
" Tteobokki is a popular Korean snack which is common to purchased from the street vendors. Originally known as Tteok jim, was a braised dish of sliced rice cake, meat, egg, and seasoning. Once, a Korean Royal Court Cuisine. "
